Fit4Life & Masters Groups

GLohealth_Fit4Life_on-WhiteWelcome back to training everyone and a very warm welcome to our new Fit4Lifers. You have probably just made one of the best decisions of your lives by joining us. We hope this is the start of many, many years of a healthy, happy, running life.

Which group to join?

As always the first week or two of any new term can be both daunting and somewhat confusing. We have outlined below a ‘rough’ guide how we see the groups. If you are still unsure where to go please ask either Fit4Life coach, Frankie Hollands or Masters’ coach, Eamon Caffrey.

Fit4Life group – Brand new group. Zero to 5K in 12 weeks. For those of you who have never run before or are getting back to it after a break this is your group.

Masters:

Group 3 – Last season’s Fit4Life transition group – (unless already in group 2 or 3). This group is for those who completed Frankie’s group last season. You are now training for a faster 5K and potentially the Lusk EOI 10K on 27th February. Targets this year – faster 5K and complete 10K.

Group 2 – This group is training for the Raheny 5 Mile, Lusk EOI 10k on 27th February and potentially the half marathon. Targets this year –  half marathon and sub 1hr 10K.

Group 1 – Training for the Raheny 5 Mile, Lusk EOI 10K & half marathon on 27th February. Targets this year – ultra, marathon, half marathon and sub 55min 10K.

Please note: you can obviously progress up and down groups depending on your ability – do not feel you are stuck in a particular group.

Tonight at training you will see Group 1, 2 and 3 on the school windows. Please go to your relevant group.  Again if you are not sure please ask one of the coaches.

Registration:

If you have not already registered with the club please do so this week. You need to be registered with Athletics Ireland (AAI) for insurance proposes. Registration is done online through our website luskathleticclub.ie. Please ask if you need any assistance.
