With a hugely talented field assembled the race was won in a course record time by national champion Mick Clohessy. But among them was Darren Ryan came home inside the top 30 which is fantastic but later it emerged that Darren was the first Junior Athlete across the line in an amazing time of 26:56.

This is a major breakthrough for the quiet Lusk AC athlete who has been with the club since the start. His main interest is Cross Country but is starting to make a break into road racing.

From all the club we congratulate you on this fantastic achievement. Darren’s next outing will be next Sunday at the Ras na hEireann.
