Charity Christmas Fun Run!
Our Chosen Charity – Action Ireland Trust
As mentioned in previous newsletters we are holding our annual Charity Christmas Fun Run on St Stephen’s Day at 11am from Lusk NS.
It will involve completing all or part of the ring road. No entry fee is required however we are asking for a donation at the start. The event is open to all the family.
Our chosen charity this year is Action Ireland Trust; supporting our coach, Aidan McKenna, who travels to Africa every year for building projects in the townships. All money raised will go to the charity.
Action Ireland Trust, which facilitates a development aid programme in Lesotho, Africa is entering its fifth year. This project delivers across a number of key essential services in education, primary health care, special needs education and IT training.
In 2016 the main project will be the construction of an ‘Early Childhood Development Centre’.
It is a joint project with the Ministry of Educating and UNICEF.
Action Ireland Trust aims to raise awareness of the harsh living conditions the people of Africa have compared to our first world standards.
This project allows two cultures to come together in collaboration to build, teach, sing and dance as one.
It also raises a sense of community in both Lesotho and North County Dublin, which gives hope to those less fortunate than ourselves.
All your support is very much appreciated – see you on the 27th!
