Lusk AC Share In Selection Of Pair For Ireland
For the first time since Lusk AC reformed in 2009 we have had two members selected for the Irish Team for the Celtic Games to take place in Swansea Wales on August 6th. Sarah Derham and Adam McNally were selected for Pole Vault after their performances in the National Track and Field Finals last weekend.
For the club it is an amazing achievement so soon into our plan to achieve excellence in everything we do. But the signs have been there for a long time. Only last year Meave Flynn narrowly missed out in the competition proper while later she was controversially dropped in the selection process for the Irish team. Previous to that her brother Brian took away the Silver medal in the Celtic Games as part of the Irish Development Team when Dublin hosted the games in 2014. Indeed Meave, Brian and Shane McNally are responsible for beginning the success story of our Vaulters in the club.
Our sponsors Street Sweep, Tesco Warehouse and Windsor Motor Group have played a major role in funding our club and our success. Coaches of Lusk AC and in particular here Noelle and Seamus have played a vital role in our training plan and continue to work selflessly for our kids. But it is the members of our club who are our success and while Sarah and Adam will put on the Green Vest in two weeks time. Everyone will be part of its make up.
Good luck Sarah and Adam. All our best wishes go with you.
